Synopsis
Lily Parker hates commitment. Annual subscriptions? No thanks. Tattoos?? Not on your life. She’s already planned to leave Fairwick Falls after being there for 11 months…until a rogue patch of ice lands her in mandated physical therapy. The problem? She really meant to get health insurance (really!) but…it slipped her mind.
Unable to climb the stairs to her apartment, she moves in with the one person who has a first-floor bedroom and shower: Nash Donnelly, her childhood-turned-teenage-turned-adult crush.
Nash Donnelly needs a wife. His money-grabbing brother wants to oust him as bank president based on an arcane 200 year old bylaw. Nash must act quickly to prevent Fairwick Falls’ only bank from falling prey to his brother’s scheme to sell to a large corporate competitor.
Who better to be a wife-of-convenience than the woman who moved in with him…and whose lips he’s dreamed of for months.
They propose a simple trade: health insurance for marriage until the bylaws can be changed. Then they can happily go their separate ways, no commitment necessary…
…right?
My Thoughts
I don’t know if I have the words to say how much I loved Elise Kennedy’s newest book ‘Conveniently in Bloom’. This book has everything from Marriage of Convenience, Age Gap (only 7 years), Hurt/Comfort, Force Proximity, Slow Burn, and of course Spicy Scenes. We will get to that last point in a bit.
I first want to mention that the characters in ‘Conveniently in Bloom’ are done very well. I enjoyed how Elise Kennedy made these characters and since this is the first book, I’ve read in the Love in Fairwick Falls series she was able to tell the story and make it, so I wasn’t lost or confused by what happened in the past books. With these characters and stories that were told I am for sure going to pick up the first and second books in this series. But if you are like me and didn’t read the first two books that is okay. The focus of this book is Lily Parker and Nash Donnelly and the characters from the past books are there, but they are just side characters and help make the story.
I couldn’t help but relate to Lily in how she ended up in forced proximity with Nash. Hurting oneself by accident is a skill that is hard to find, and Lily can get a gold star for that. Right from the start you can tell Nash wants Lily and has for a while, so it was no surprise he wanted to be there to take care of her and help her in the only way he knew how. Little did he know that letting Lily in would help him with his life way more than he ever thought.
The passion these two have brings that spice level to a 4! That’s right, this spice level is so hot that you will need to take a cold shower. At first, Nash is trying not to give into the urges he has to take Lily how he wants. Eventually, they both give in and let that spice level heat up. ‘Conveniently in Bloom’ with that spice level and the characters being ones I loved seeing is a solid five stars! You can’t help but want to keep reading the storyline, and I really had a problem putting this book down.
‘Conveniently in Bloom’ is finally out now and is available wherever you get your books. You can also head over to Elise Kennedy’s website and order directly from her website.
**I would like to thank Elise Kennedy for the ARC copy of this book. Getting the ARC Copy did not influence my thoughts on the book as they are all my own.**
