Synopsis
Tucker’s heart was broken, stomped on, chewed up, and spit back out. But that was five years ago. He’s had time and space to come to terms with being left behind, to heal his heart.
It’s helped that June has stayed away from Arcadia Creek—except now she’s back.
She says she’s here to stay. But old wounds don’t heal as smoothly the second time.
And Tucker isn’t about to trust her again—no matter how hard she tries.
My Thoughts
‘Falling in Line’ was the first book I picked up by Kasey Stockton. I have to say I enjoyed this book and I loved the fact that there was no third act break up. The story was well done and told a story of how two high school sweethearts find their way back to each other after years of breaking up and one of them coming home to help their father after surgery.
It was different seeing how June’s father kept her out of the loop and was more worried that she would hurt Tucker than Tucker hurting her after they started to get close again while she was in town. It was also interesting to see how she grew into liking the town more than when she was living there and growing up.
This audiobook was narrated by Cara Swingline and Evan Sibley. They both do a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and do a good job of playing the other parts needed when they are reading.
‘Falling in Line’ is book two in the Arcadia Creek series. While I didn’t read book one I didn’t feel like I missed anything so that makes this book a great read as you read the whole series or as a stand-alone. Even tho this was a great read something was missing to me which is why I am giving ‘Falling in Line’ 3 and a half stars as I felt like something was missing. There is also no sizzle in the book but that is fine as there is still chemistry between Juen and Tuicker. This book is a good read between dark and heavy books that is for sure.
‘Falling in Line’ is available wherever you get your audiobooks.
