What made Mexico Can Choke on It so adorable and giggles throughout the book was the clever writing and witty banter between the main characters. The writing in this book actually made me think of Amy Award, mixed with pop culture references that will make you think of the Gilmore Girls in how natural they put it in. Now I am not saying this is just like an Amy Award book or like the Gilmore Girls, but if that style of writing, witty, and cleverness is something you like, you will love this book.
Since I was loving the writing so much for this book and just the story of these characters, I thought I would see who MéLisa Ryun was, as this is a new author to me. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was a husband and wife writing duo. I really do believe that since they are husband and wife, that did help when it came to writing the banter in this book.
If you are a fan of 90s/early 2000s Rom-Coms I really think you will enjoy Mexico Can Choke on It. I could easily see this being adapted into a movie everyone would love. I am also giving this book four stars. And if you want spice, this book has that as well, with a four chili pepper spice level.
