It’s crazy to think that we are only weeks away from Halloween, so that means we are in full-on Fall mood for the season. Pumpkins, hot drinks, the leaves changing colors, it’s everything we like about this season, and Valerie Brown made it all into a book with The Honeycrisp Orchard Inn. This is the start of a new series, and boy, it was a good way to start.
A lot of books nowadays have dual points of view, and The Honeycrisp Orchard Inn was different in that it was a single point of view. It was all from the point of view of Ellie, and I have to say it was a nice difference to have. It’s been a very long time since it was just a single point of view, and it was kind of nice just being in the head of one person.
Now, with many mall-town books that take place during the fall, the thing everyone says is that it’s like Gilmore Girls. There are a few things that made me think that the beloved TV show The Honeycrisp Orchard Inn can stand on its own. I did find it funny that on Sunday nights at the drive-in movie theatre, they would show Gilmore Girls.
While there were moments I thought would happen that actually did happen, that is in a typical Romance book, there were a few things that happened that did surprise me. That was great to see that there are a few times where it’s a surprise or shock that something happened instead of being right and knowing what is going to happen.
Now I have to say I enjoyed The Honeycrisp Orchard Inn from start to finish, and this book is getting four stars. This is a book you will love if you are a fan of Romance books. Now the spice level is only one chili pepper. It was like once Ellie and Aiden started having sex, they literally couldn’t stop for 24 hours. I felt like that was a bit much, but it’s easy to go over if you want to skip.
