When I was reading what Fake As Puck was about, I was super excited. I felt like this was going to be a great book. I am said to say the hyper I was giving to myself did not go well. I am not sure if the writing of the characters is what threw me off or what. I have to say the characters in the book felt a little immature. But I will say that when it came to the big thing that happened, they did act mature in figuring out what happened and how to move on from what happened. That was a huge surprise for me.
Fake As Puck was an audiobook to me, and had Shiloh James and Tim Paige as the narrators. They did an okay job giving this audiobook two microphones. I felt like some of the narration could be better, and I wasn’t feeling the characters come alive like how some audiobooks I listen to.
With everything I have said, and who knows, maybe it is due to the narration of the story I am giving Fake as Puck two and a half stars. Like I said, how they handled the issue that came up was handled so well, but up to that point, this book was just not there and felt off. There was spice in this book… when I say spice, I mean a good chunk of spice. The spice level is four chili peppers.
If you like hockey and enjoy spice, this book might be it for you. Just because I didn’t enjoy it doesn’t mean you won’t. And if you are a Kindle Unlimited member, the e-book version of this book is included in your membership.
I would like to thank Love Note PR for the ALC Copy of this book. Getting the ALC Copy did not influence my thoughts on the book as they are all my own.
