Riley Paige is a new author to me, and I enjoyed her latest book, Broken Play. If you are a fan of College Football, this Romance book is perfect for you. The characters that Riley brought to life, from the leads Jaxon and Madison to the side characters, were perfect. And I am so glad that this isn’t the last time we will see these characters. Right when you meet Jaxon, you will fall for him right away and wish he as someone you knew. Madison comes with a lot of baggage and has a lot of things to work through, but Jaxon was the perfect balance to that, and since they grew up together, he understood where her issues and stuff came from.
While I got the issues Madison had and why she would have them, I did feel like it was kind of dragged on a bit more than it should have been, but at the same time, I get it’s not an easy thing to work through. I did like how Jaxon wasn’t giving up on her and understood she had a lot of things to work through. This book had everything I like, with the characters having great growth and romance. Riley Paige is an author who also knows when to just have the spice fade to black. It’s great having an author know it’s okay to fade to black.
Broken Play is a good read, and I’m giving it three and a half stars. With the spice that was in it, Broken Play will be getting three Chili Peppers. Broken Play is available wherever you get your books and if you are a member of Kindle Unlimited member it is included in your membership.
